Reds are reportedly among the long list of top teams to have contacted Valencia about a possible transfer deal for Ferran Torres. Liverpool have been heavily linked with U21 Spain international, though the report suggests Real Madrid are currently leading the chase for the talented forward in a deal worth nearly €80m.
Ferran looks a massive prospect and Man City, Barcelona, Juventus and PSG have also all joined the Reds in asking Valencia about a possible deal. The German tactician has just led Reds to PL title glory, but it’s little shock that Jurgen Klopp is still keen to keep on improving his squad.
Liverpool lack depth behind their first-choice front three of Mo Salah, Sadio Mane and Roberto Firmino, with Torres perhaps the perfect option to give Jurgen more chances to rotate in that department. Still, it seems like the Spaniard himself is now more likely to be heading to Los Blancos unless Merseyside club can pull off a late hijack.
Liverpool supporters will hope, however, that this shows some intent from Jurgen to sign a top attacking footballer this summer. Jurgen Klopp will perhaps embrace having a footballer who offers something different. Especially if he feels Reds need to subtly reinvent themselves only to remain ahead of the rivals who are trying to ‘work them out’.
With Borussia Dortmund aware of the mounting interest Jadon Sancho is generating, contingency plans were pieced together. Ferran figured prominently in those, however, BVB are taking a step backwards as they are aware that it will be impossible to compete financially with the other clubs in the hunt for such a hot prospect.
