Liverpool renewed negotiations with €35m-rated World Cup winner

It wasn’t too long ago when Thomas Muller was seen as the key figure at Bayern Munich, but that’s no longer the case. Former Germany international has found himself sat on the substitute’s bench for Bavarians last five matches and as such, he wants a transfer.

When discussing possible destinations for Thomas, Merseyside club were interested in the then Muller back in 2017, as were Man United, perhaps hinting that there could be Premier League interest in the attacker when the transfer window opens.

We’ve seen in the past that Liverpool manager has been happy to wait for footballers he is keen to sign but time will tell if Liverpool decide to reignite their interest in the 30-year-old attacker. There’s no doubting that German striker has had an impressive career so far, both for club and country.

However, it looks like he’s keen to leave the Bavarians he’s been at for nearly two decades in search of regular playing time and moving to Merseyside club wouldn’t guarantee him that. Liverpool have arguably the best forward trio in the world and while Muller could provide depth in the front-line.

There’s little chance of him taking a spot from Sadio Mane, Mohamed Salah or Roberto Firmino and as such, it’s difficult to envisage a scenario in which he becomes a Liverpool footballer. Muller eight Bundesliga, Champions League and World Cup during his career.

In this season he already played ten matches, scored one goal and provided four assists in all tournaments. It is an excellent result, and he can improve his consequences during this campaign.
