Liverpool are interested in Wolves star Matheus Nunes and could make a move for the footballer as early as January. Portugal international recently signed for Wolves in the summer transfer window from Sporting. Matheus had plenty of interest in the last few months but opted to join Wolves, possibly due to their heavy Portuguese contingent.
Despite only moving this year, Nunes could already be on his way out the door. The Reds are interested in signing the 24-year-old midfielder and could make a move for him during the winter transfer window. The report claims the Reds are set to invest heavily as they look to solve their ongoing midfielder problem.
Klopp has struggled to get the usual tune out of his Liverpool side, and his midfield has become under particular scrutiny. The likes of Milner and Henderson are showing signs of declining, and Fabio Carvalho and Harvey Elliot may not have the experience required to be playing for the Reds week in week out at the highest level yet.
The Portuguese midfielder would offer plenty of experience at a young age, not just in league football but in Europe as well. The midfield has been the one problem area for the Reds for some time now and, despite the emergency loan signing of Arthur from Juventus on deadline day, it still looks a concern.
The key to a possible transfer is Liverpool sporting director Julian Ward’s good working relationship with super-agent Jorge Mendes, who architected a move for his client Darwin Nunez this summer.
