Liverpool planning surprise move for No.9 Uruguayan striker

Luis Suarez is considering leaving Atletico Madrid in the summer transfer window, with a comeback to the Merseyside giants mentioned as an option. Uruguay international, who only joined the Los Colchoneros in the summer of 2020, has a bad relationship with the Argentine tactician.

Diego Simeone is a combative character, one who doesn’t tend to clash with footballers like Luis, rather forms an impenetrable bond with them, Diego Costa. Nevertheless,  Suarez’s deteriorating relationship with the Argentine boss could force him out the Wanda Metropolitano exit door.

While the Spanish publication do claim that Inter Miami would be hopeful of convincing the 34-year-old striker to move to the MLS, there’s another option on the table for the centre-forward. The Uruguayan striker could return to Anfield, where he established himself as one of the world’s elite, to finish his career.

That may be a little bit pie in the sky, but the mere suggestion of seeing Luis back in Reds colours would probably leave Liverpool supporters foaming at the mouth.

Nevertheless, it looks like following his fantastic display with Reds in the UCL earlier this week, Vinicius could be subject to a transfer offer from Liverpool this coming summer.

Having said that, with Real Madrid looking to retain the services of Vinicius, it seems like the Reds will have to turn their attention elsewhere to sign a replacement for Sadio Mane.

Reds appear to be in a precarious position over the future of Mohamed Salah, who has coincidentally been linked with Real Madrid in recent months. However, it is not the future of Salah that the German manager is concerned about. Instead, Jurgen Klopp is eyeing Brazil international as a long-term replacement for Sadio Mane.
