An apparent representative of Man City forward Raheem Sterling has given an interview that seemingly opens the door for the winger to seal a transfer back to Merseyside giants at some point in the future. Jurgen Klopp wants to strengthen the front-line during the summer transfer window as Sadio Mane heavily linked with Real Madrid.
Liverpool’s remarkable rise under Jurgen Klopp has perhaps shown that Raheem was wrong to ditch Reds for Man City earlier in his career, though of course, the winger will point to his extensive collection of medals in that time as an argument against that. The representative of the 25-year-old as also hinting it could be an option in the future.
Still, Merseyside club now seems the place to be for any top player and Sterling could surely still get into Liverpool’s starting line up, even with the presence of Mo Salah, Sadio Mane and Roberto Firmino in that front three. A fan recently asked Sterling himself during a Q&A about potentially rejoining Reds, and he certainly didn’t rule it out.
“Even if Raheem is attached to Ma City, he hasn’t forgotten Liverpool, because that’s where he became who he is as a man and as a player,” the rep said. “Of course, there was controversy surrounding his exit, but since then, the time has run its course, and everything is possible.”
It stays to be seen if the Merseyside club supporters would welcome the English winger back, but for those who do still rate the footballer highly, this sounds very encouraging indeed.
