Liverpool planning shock move for 18-year-old Brazilian centre-forward

Merseyside club have ‘set their sights’ on signing Gabriel Martinelli from Arsenal. U23 Brazil international has caught the eye for the London club this campaign, proving to be one of the positives in an otherwise forgettable season to date.

Merseyside club reportedly see Gabriel as a possible target, as they weigh up their summer transfer plans. It is claimed that Michael Edwards is ‘on the trail’ of Martinelli, who joined the Gunners from Ituano last summer. I believe the 18-year-old striker would be a superb signing by Reds, should there be genuine truth in the rumours.

He looks a fantastic prospect who draws comparison with the likes of Luis Suarez and Sergio Aguero, in terms of his low centre of gravity, street fighting style and composure in front of goal. Martinelli already has ten goals to his name this campaign, including a double at Anfield in the Carabao Cup, on a night when his all-round game impressed.

Merseyside club should do all they can to steal the Brazilian centre-forward from the London club he would be a strong backup to Roberto Firmino, and his ceiling is extremely high, in my opinion. Jurgen Klopp wants to bolster the front-line and ready to spend considerable money on the striker during the summer transfer window.

Liverpool have fantastic consequences in the Premier League this campaign as they are leading the table. Merseyside club signed several footballers during the summer transfer window like Sepp van den Berg from Zwolle, Harvey Elliott from Fulham, Spanish goalkeeper Adrian and English shot-stopper Andy Lonergan.
