Liverpool lower asking price as Klopp ready to sell Markovic

As per The Mirror, Liverpool are ready to sell their out-of-favour midfielder Lazar Markovic for £12m transfer fee, a loss on the £20m they paid Benfica back in 2014.

The former Liverpool head coach Brendan Rodgers could not work out how to get the best out of the Serbia international and Jurgen Klopp simply sent him out on a succession of loan deals.

It is believed that 23-year-old Lazar Markovic is the type of talent Mauricio Pochettino’s Spurs should be trying to add, and revive into the top star he was touted to become.

The attacking midfielder was a key performer of the Benfica team which ripped Tim Sherwood’s Tottenham Hotspur to shreds at White Hart Lane in the Europa League back in 2014.

Markovic’s most recent spell was on loan at Hull and after struggling initially, he began to make an impact, scoring in wins over Middlesbrough and Watford.

According to the same sources, Liverpool are to offer Markovic to Watford, and it may be that a team as highly placed as Spurs simply consider the Serbian not worth a place in their squad, but there is clearly untapped potential there.
