Liverpool leading the race to sign 16-year-old Championship youngster

A host of Premier League sides are keeping tabs on West Bromwich Albion starlet Rico Richards. Rico, who turned 16 in September, is being watched by Liverpool and Man City. North London rivals Gunners and Spurs are also said to be monitoring his progress. He has huge potential and can achieve big success if he continuous improvement.

Richards, a number 10 or forward with an eye for goal, has been training with Baggies under-23s but is set to be out of deal next year. West Bromwich are understandably keen to tie him down to a longer deal after seeing two of their other young stars snatched away by other teams recently.

Morgan Rogers joined Man City for £4m in the summer prior to his 17th birthday, linking up with the champions’ elite development team. And another highly-rated talent, Louie Barry, signed for Blaugrana in the last transfer window after turning down the chance to remain on at The Hawthorns.

Spurs have also been linked with Nathan Ferguson and Albion are in talks about extending his deal at the club. Reds heavily linked with Bayer Leverkusen playmaker Kai Havertz, PSG forward Kylian Mbappe, Genk midfielder Sander Berge, Leicester City attacker James Maddison and Borussia Dortmund winger Jadon Sancho.

Liverpool started this campaign fantastically as they are leading the Premier League table. Merseyside club signed several footballers during the summer transfer window like Sepp van den Berg from Zwolle, Harvey Elliott from Fulham, Spanish goalkeeper Adrian and English shot-stopper Andy Lonergan.
