Liverpool leading race to sign No.9 South American striker

The Merseyside giants are reportedly ready to rival Milan in pursuit of Santos centre-forward Kaio Jorge, valued at nearly €10m. However, Milan‘s pursuit of U20 Brazil international has been dealt with a possible blow as the Reds have now joined the battle to secure his services.

It appears Jorge has emerged as the perfect option for the German coach, with the PL giants now keen on hijacking the Rossoneri’s move for the centre-forward.

Stemming from an academy that has produced footballing superstars like Pepe, Neymar and Robinho, the expectation has been immense on Kaio, ever since his breakthrough in the top-flight. But the 19-year-old striker has lived up to the hype so far, already featuring in 75 competitive games for the Brazilian club, scoring 15 goals.

His numbers might seem underwhelming compared to the likes of Neymar and Robinho, but the Brazilian striker is indeed one of the biggest gems in Brazil at the moment. A striker by trade, Kaio has turned many heads with his technical quality on the ball and the ability to move past footballers at will.

The Rossoneri have been very keen on securing the services of Jorge, despite completing the capture of Olivier Giroud. It appears the teenager has been identified as the possible face of Milan front-line in the future, though the Reds recent interest may hinder such plans.

Braced for a busy summer ahead, Liverpool have already shown a lot of ambition in the market so far. The Reds are particularly desperate to bolster their attacking options, having been linked with a move Watford winger Ismaila Sarr recently, as well as Wolves forward Adama Traore.
