Liverpool leading race to sign 19-year-old German striker

The Merseyside giants are leading Barcelona in the battle to add Karim Adeyemi. The German tactician is constantly tracking the progress of the RB Salzburg centre-forward and is weighing up a move in the next transfer window as the Reds look to continue their hunt for attacking footballers.

The Catalan giants are the other team interested in the services of Germany international, while two German clubs Bayern Munich and Borussia Dortmund, are tracking Adeyemi as well.

But the report makes clear that the Reds are in pole position, and a possible move to Liverpool could be on the cards for Karim in the upcoming winter transfer window. The Reds have experience of doing business with RB Salzburg, having secured the services of Minamino last year.

Both Naby Keita and Sadio Mane are former Salzburg graduates as well, and it is apparent that footballers stemming from the Red Bull brand of football tend to fit in easily with the German manager’s tactical philosophy at Anfield.

At Liverpool, the 19-year-old striker is likely being viewed as a possible alternative for Roberto Firmino, who has struggled with a lack of productivity. Moreover, the recent injury of Harvey Elliott has forced accentuated the need for a new forward, with the Reds also being linked with a move for Amine Gouiri recently.

The Merseyside club’s apparent interest in the German striker might not bode well for the Blaugrana, though, with the La Liga giants also scouring the market for a young and cost-effective option to spice up the front-line that has had to deal with the summer exit of Lionel Messi and Antoine Griezmann.
