Liverpool keeping tabs with €75m-rated Germany international

Since one can be sure of anything in this life, Reds supporters the world over are confident that Liverpool wants RB Leipzig’s Timo Werner wearing the Liverbird sooner rather than later. Germany international has been scoring goals in his sleep so far this campaign, bagging 25 goals and ten assists in 26 games in all tournaments.

While others may be distracted by the Mbappé 2020 headlines, it is instead a Reds swoop for Timo that has been mooted, potentially even in winter. It’s a no brainer of a decision for a footballer who would immediately challenge Reds fabled front three for a starting spot anywhere across the front-line.

Even sweeter is the ridiculously low release clause rumoured to be as low as €30m. Reds’ well-oiled working relationship with the Red Bull talent factories in Leipzig and Salzburg, combined with news of Werner’s preference for Liverpool, has resulted in the Reds leaping to the front of the queue ahead of the likes of Real Madrid.

However, further, development, as revealed by Spanish outlet Fichajes, is that the Merseyside club have taken nothing for granted and lodged a £60m bid to seal the deal in winter, activating the release clause that could see transfer finalised by the end of the week.

Look, we aren’t entirely convinced as to the trustworthiness of these Fichajes fellows, but you can be damn sure that we want to believe it. German manager, as backed by Michael Edwards and FSG, has shown no qualms about pulling out all stops to secure their primary targets.
