PSG forward Kylian Mbappe needs to leave France to become a better footballer and prove himself on the biggest stage. That’s according to Real Madrid star Luka Modric, who has won four Champions League titles as part of one of the best Los Blancos sides ever.
France international is being linked with a move away from Paris in the future, with Liverpool and Real Madrid tipped to land the star. Kylian has just ever played in his home country, where he helped Monaco win the Ligue 1 title, before switching to PSG in 2017 and becoming a big reason why they have dominated ever since.
However, to be considered as a modern great, it’s thought that he would probably need to join one of Europe’s more competitive league, such as the PL or La Liga. And Luka, who has played in both with Tottenham and Real Madrid respectively, insists that the World Cup winner would benefit from trying out a new league.
“Mbappé has everything to dominate the scene,” Croatian superstar said. “But I think that to leap in quality, he needs to go to a championship in which his team does not win so easily. I would like to end my career at Real, but it will also depend on the club.”
Speaking about his career, Modric said he would like to finish his career at the Bernabeu, and revealed that he would like to go into coaching when he hangs up his boots, potentially with the Croatian national team. “I’m sure I can play at a high level for two more years, then we’ll see,” Luka added.
