Liverpool keeping tabs with 21-year-old Premier League attacker

Reds need to get a transfer for Norwich attacker Todd Cantwell over the line. U21 England international is the real deal. Amid Norwich’s woes, Todd has produced a series of eye-catching displays this campaign, he has bagged six Premier League goals this term including strikes with Arsenal, Chelsea and Man City.

However, Cantwell’s fantastic displays haven’t gone unnoticed. Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp is tracking the 21-year-old attacker along with Man United and Tottenham. Bruce has likened the English attacker to James Maddison and Jack Grealish, who are also both firmly on Man United’s wishlist this summer.

“One thing that he gives you is his ball carrying,” Bruce saidInsider. “He is a little bit like Jack Grealish, that type of player. “He plays with flair like a James Maddison. Of course, he has some way to go before he is at their levels, but it is his first season in the Premier League, and he has done OK.

“He has caught people’s eye, and everybody is talking about him. “Cantwell is young, so he is a prospect. It will not surprise me if a club like that takes a punt on him. “If Norwich goes down, it will be difficult to keep hold of him.” Not everyone is convinced Cantwell is at the requisite standard now, though.

Anfield hero Steve McManaman has told his former club to proceed with caution before splashing the cash. “In the future possibly, but I don’t think he’s done enough yet to warrant playing at that level,” McManaman said.
