Liverpool keeping tabs with 19-year-old Portuguese forward

The Merseyside giants have agreed to a five-year contract with Fulham’s attacker, Fabio Carvalho, ahead of the 2022 summer transfer window. U21 Portugal international started out in the Benfica youth system before moving to Balham and eventually ending up at Fulham in 2015.

Carvalho came through the ranks at Fulham before making his first-team bow in 2020. Fabio has since played 37 games for the Cottagers, scoring nine goals and making seven assists. The 19-year-old attacker has been an important footballer for Marco Silva this campaign as Fulham target a return to the PL.

They are currently at the summit of the English second division with only a handful of matches to go. Unless their form drops off dramatically, they look like favourites to return to the top flight. It could prove to be the Portuguese attacker’s biggest contribution to Fulham.

His deal at Fulham expires in the summer of 2022, and the Reds have a deal in place to take him to Liverpool when that happens. Liverpool have agreed to land Fabio on a five-year contract that will keep him at the club until 2027. Liverpool will pay £5m to Fulham for the footballer and a possible £2.7m in bonuses.

The amount will be considered peanuts should Fabio go on to fulfil his potential on Merseyside. The Reds have a sensational record in the transfer window, and the insistence they showed to get the Fabio Carvalho deal over the line is an indication of how highly they rate the attacker.
