Liverpool and Man United have retained their interest in Bayern Munich forward Leroy Sane, despite claims that he will not be sold this summer. The reigning Bundesliga champions could be open to selling Germany international for the right price.
Leroy returned to Germany with the Bavarians a couple of years ago after four campaigns with Man City. Sane did not quite set the PL on fire but showed flashes of brilliance, accumulating 37 goals and 46 assists in 134 games across all tournaments for the Citizens.
The 26-year-old winger eventually forced a move to Bayern in the 2020 summer transfer window and has played 91 games for the Bundesliga giants since then, scoring 25 goals and providing 28 assists. There were reports that with the arrival of Mane, Sane could fall down the pecking order, fuelling rumours of a potential summer exit.
All such reports were shot down by the Bundesliga club sporting director Hasan Salihamidzic, who dismissed reports linking the German attacker with a return to the PL amid links with Liverpool and Man United.
Bayern Munich are still open to selling the German amidst interest from Liverpool and Man United. While Liverpool have made an attacking addition in Darwin Nunez, Man United are yet to address the lack of depth in their offensive unit.
The Red Devils have seen Cavani and Lingard leave the club this summer as free agents but have done nothing to fill the gap created by their departures.
