Liverpool keep a close eye on €75m-rated African defensive rock

Merseyside club are closely monitoring Napoli centre-back Kalidou Koulibaly and prepare to make a bid during the summer transfer window. Reds need a new top-class defender to strengthen the back-line, and Senegal international is the best choice in this situation. He had an excellent campaign and proved his greatness one more time.

Jurgen Klopp will do everything to sign him this July, but it will be difficult as Man United, Man City and Juventus also plan to make an offer during the transfer window. There will be for the player, and his price could become much more. Koulibaly joined the Italian club from Genk in 2014 with an €8m deal.

He became an unchanged figure for the club and scored several amazing goals since joining. In this season, Kalidou played 48 matches, scored two goals and made one assist in all tournament. It is an impressive result, and he can do much more during the next campaign.

The 28-year-old centre-back has contracted with the Little Donkeys until 2023, and his release clause is around €75m. He regularly plays in the national team squad and also made appearances in the 2018 Mundial which is already a big success for the defender.

Probably Senegalese superstar will accept the correct offer from the German manager. He helped Napoli to finish Serie A in a second position and get the Champions League ticket. Liverpool signed several players last summer like Naby Keita from RB Leipzig, Fabinho from Monaco, Alisson Becker from Roma and Xherdan Shaqiri Stoke City.
