Liverpool keep a close eye on €40m-rated technically gifted playmaker

Liverpool are closing in on the signing of Ajax attacker Hakim Ziyech, the Premier League giants are keen to bolster their attacking options this transfer window after losing Philippe Coutinho last year.

Merseyside club were keen on bringing Nabil Fekir and Ousmane Dembele to Anfield, however, Lyon and Barcelona have refused to let go of their attacking superstars. It’s understood that the deal to bring Hakim to Liverpool will be in the region of €30m.

Bayern Munich and Arsenal were both extremely keen on the attacking midfielder’s signature this transfer window. Man United were on the long list of top European clubs that were interested in the Morocco international.

The 26-year-old attacker was one of last season’s breakout stars, Ziyech contributed a stunning 45 goals for Jews across all tournaments, Moroccan superstar scored 21 goals and provided 24 assists to his teammates.

Hakim also showed his talents on the biggest stage as Ajax stunned the rest of the world with their surprise run to the Champions League Semi-Finals. Ziyech joined Ajax from Twente in 2016 with an €11m deal. He is one of the best playmakers in the Eredivisie and a key figure for the club.

The 26-year-old attacker is a regular member of the national team line-up and also helped them to reach the playoff in the 2019 Africa Cup of Nations, but after losing in a penalty shoot-out against Benin, they knocked out from the competition.

Arsenal, Bayern Munich and Man United have certainly missed out on an extremely talented footballer, Hakim could have helped them unlock some of the Premier League’s tightest defences.
