Merseyside club coach Jurgen Klopp is reportedly keen to seal a reunion with Borussia Dortmund superstar Marco Reus. Jurgen managed Germany international during the duo’s time at Dortmund together towards the start of the decade, and now, it seems like the Reds manager is keen to be reunited with his former player once again at Anfield.
Klopp has asked Liverpool to look at bringing Marco from Bundesliga to Merseyside soon, a move that’ll give the English club options in the front-line a considerable boost. During his time at Dortmund, Reus has managed to establish himself as one of the most lethal and complete attackers in Germany.
In 240 matches for Dortmund, the German star has managed to clock up 117 goals and 75 assists, an excellent return for a footballer who’s often made to play out-wide. The 30-year-old winger can play on either wing and even as a centre forward, versatility that’ll come in handy for Jurgen should the German end up moving to Anfield.
Apart from Merseyside club’s main front three of Salah, Firmino and Mane, Liverpool don’t have any other quality options to choose from up front, something that’ll change should they end up bringing in Marco. It’ll be interesting to see if Reds listen to Klopp and make a move for Reus.
German forward has contracted with the Die Schwarzgelben until 2023, and his release clause is around €50m. He is a regular member of the national team squad which is already a big success for the footballer. Liverpool also linked with Barcelona winger Ousmane Dembele and Ajax attacker Hakim Ziyech.
