The Merseyside giants have made an approach to Championship leaders Norwich City over a possible summer move for Emiliano Buendia.
U20 Argentina international, who spent a year in Real Madrid’s youth system, rose through the ranks at Getafe and made his name in Spain before making the switch to the Canaries in the summer of 2018. Since arriving at Carrow Road, Emiliano has grown into an integral footballer for Norwich City.
Indeed, Buendia played a pivotal part in their promotion to the PL in the 2018/19 season while he was one of their best players in the top-flight last term. even though they ended up going back down. And, the 24-year-old winger is once again leading the charge for Daniel Farke’s men as they push for a come back to the PL.
The Argentine attacker, so far in 2020/21, has been in scintillating form, posting amazing numbers of 12 goals and 16 assists in 33 Championship games. Emiliano was directly involved in four goals (1G, 3A) as the Canaries thumped Huddersfield Town 7-0 in their most recent fixture.
Buendia has recently attracted interest from PL teams, with the Gunners said to have been monitoring him in the past. However, it is Liverpool, now, who have taken a liking to Emiliano and have already lodged an enquiry with the Canaries over his availability.
Liverpool’s front-linehas not been performing at the levels expected of them this term. Mohamed Salah has had to carry the majority of the goal-scoring burden along with summer arrival Diogo Jota, as Roberto Firmino has been going through a lean patch while Sadio Mane has also blown hot and cold at times.
