Liverpool in the battle to sign €25m-rated Mali international

It has been less than a month since the summer transfer window of 2021 slammed shut, but the Merseyside giants are already planning for the next year if reports are to be believed, with Brighton midfielder, Yves Bissouma, emerging as an early target for 2022.

Mali international has been with Brighton since three years now, having signed from French club Lille. During his time at the Amex Stadium, Bissouma has gradually developed into one of the most consistent and reliable central midfielders in the PL, which led to a strong interest in his services this past summer.

Indeed, the likes of Liverpool, Man United and Arsenal were all linked with a move for Yves in the recently concluded transfer window, but a move did not materialise, and the midfielder ended up staying put with the Seagulls.

However, it looks like the interest in the 25-year-old midfielder stays intact, with the Reds already planning a move for him for the next summer. The Reds had a fairly quiet transfer window this year, with Ibrahima Konate being the only footballer to arrive at Liverpool.

Despite having lost Gini Wijnaldum on a free transfer, Liverpool decided not to replace the Dutchman. Instead, the German manager decided to put his faith in Naby Keita, which looks to be paying off well early in the campaign.

Nonetheless, the Reds will need to delve into the transfer market for another top-quality midfielder next summer, given as Henderson and Thiago Alcantara are into their thirties and have had fitness issues recently.
