The Merseyside giants are reportedly working on a convincing argument to tempt Kylian Mbappe to Liverpool, according to a report. Speculation over several months has linked France international with a move to Liverpool. Indeed, Reds kit sponsorship with Nike could reportedly act as leverage.
Real Madrid are also keen on Kylian but, in any case, Parisians concerns about the footballer’s future are reportedly growing. There is a ‘strong trend’ within the Parc des Princes that Mbappe could leave next summer. More specifically, a recent meeting between the Parisians and the 21-year-old winger’s entourage has raised several issues.
The French forward’s representatives want assurances that if the winger does stay, he will have the opportunity to play with new, exciting footballers in ‘key roles’. What’s more, his entourage want answers as to how Parisians plan to complete a UCL triumph.
Parisians, however, cannot ‘offer such guarantees’, with the covid likely to cost the club over €100m for the 2020/21 campaign. As such, the Merseyside giants and Los Blancos are monitoring the developments in the background ahead of a possible raid.
Parisians chief Youri Djorkaeff has said that Mbappe wants to win the UCL and move to a “big club”. Liverpool already have arguably the best front three in world football, but they’d surely relish the chance to add an elite talent like Kylian to their front line.
Real Madrid is often seen as the dream destination of the world’s biggest names, so Reds could have a tough fight on their hands to land the forward even if he is set for a move. The World Cup winner’s deal runs out in two years’ time, meaning next summer could be an ideal time for him to switch clubs.
