Liverpool in pole position to sign €25m-rated Bundesliga winger

Reds transfer approach this summer has remained rather consistent after the German manager has stated on many occasions that finances are limited due to the financial ramifications of the covid-19. Jurgen Klopp stated in June that signings will just be sanctioned if funds are ready-made following club departures.

The Merseyside giants’ capture of Kostas Tsimikas was vindication to this particular notion as the money used to sign the Greek defender came directly from the £11m the Reds received following Dejan Lovren’s departure to Zenit St Petersburg.

This makes the argument regarding the Merseyside club’s reported interest regarding Werder Bremen winger Milot Rashica all the more interesting. Liverpool wanted Kosovo international at nearly £33m, a more recent report from them claims Weder Bremen have no immediate interest to sell.

Reds have since cooled interest in Milot which paved the way for RB Leipzig to move for the winger yet the Red Bull-owned club have since given up on the idea of signing him. Rashica is 24 and it is unlikely that the winger will be considered a prime Reds target unless he suddenly became available at a knockdown price.

RB Leipzig have other priorities financially such as the permanent signing of Man City defender Angelino who enjoyed a successful loan spell in the Bundesliga during the second half of last campaign.

Before Liverpool’s reported interest, Kosovar winger had scored 11 goals during 34 games last campaign while also boasting eight assists. RB Leipzig’s stalled interest in the 24-year-old forward during a podcast and also reaffirmed that the Merseyside club were recently interested in the footballer.
