Liverpool in pole position to sign €100m-rated prolific English winger

Merseyside club have been labelled as favourites to sign Jadon Sancho from Borussia Dortmund by former Premier League centre-forward, turned pundit, Jan Aage Fjortoft. England international’s future has been the subject of much speculation after relationships at his current club have become stretched.

Jadon was dropped from the starting line-up for a recent Champions League clash with Barcelona, and there have been multiple reports of his lateness raising disciplinary issues. Bundesliga giants manager Lucien Favre said after the defeat to Barcelona, in which Sancho scored: ‘I explained to him why he wasn’t starting before the game.

‘I told him it was a really difficult game here in Barcelona, and we needed players that were focused, and that went on to the pitch focused.’ The Bundesliga side will now reportedly listen to offers for the winger in winter, and Fjortoft believes it is Reds that is his most likely destination.

‘From an excellent source in Germany: Jurgen Klopp and Liverpool favourite to get Sancho,’ tweeted the Norwegian, who works for Viasport, among others. ‘Sancho wants to leave the club already in January.’

The 19-year-old winger was positive about his future at Dortmund earlier in the campaign, telling in September: ‘I can’t tell the future. ‘I take it game by game. I want to give 100 per cent for Borussia Dortmund. ‘I want to do well with Dortmund. I want to win titles and give everything.’

However, things have soured since then, and an exit in winter or the summer seems likely, although the English star will set any club back nearly £100m.
