Liverpool in bidding war for €160m-rated France international

The Merseyside giants have contacted PSG over Kylian Mbappe, who is being tipped to join Real Madrid this transfer window. It appears Liverpool have already made contact with the Parisians, seeking the possibility of a late swoop.

France international is believed to be a huge admirer of the Reds, whose lack of activity in the market this transfer window puts them in a better position to sign Mbappe than any other English club at the moment.

Indeed, Liverpool’s arch-rivals Man United have recently completed the sensational capture of Cristiano Ronaldo while Man City, it seems, are holding out for next summer when they will surely target Erling Haaland. They had also broken the PL transfer record by bringing in Jack Grealish from Aston Villa.

Chelsea, too, have brought in Romelu Lukaku, leaving the Reds as the only club yet to make an eye-catching transfer this summer. It has caused quite an uproar from a section of fans, who believe that Liverpool do not have enough quality to compete with any of those three teams for the PL trophy next campaign.

The signing of Kylian, in that regard, could go a long way in silencing those critics. The 22-year-old winger would be an immediate upgrade over Roberto Firmino in attack, possible forming a deadly offensive combination alongside Mohamed Salah and Sadio Mane next campaign.

However, Liverpool are racing against time as Real Madrid edge closer towards the capture of the generational talent. A recent report even suggests that Real Madrid are only one step away from signing the French forward, having made an astounding €180m bid for the PSG attacker.
