Norwich City have reportedly slapped a £40m price tag on 16-assist Liverpool transfer target Emiliano Buendia ahead of the summer transfer window. Norwich are aware of interest in their footballers and have set their asking price for Emiliano at £40m, while Todd Cantwell and Max Aarons are said to be available for £30m.
Buendia is reportedly one of several footballers Reds are continuing to track as they plan to bolster their squad for the next campaign. Reds have struggled to find a footballer who is capable of consistently creating chances every game this campaign, with no player in the squad averaging two or more crucial passes per game in the PL.
This means that there could be an opening for a footballer with the qualities Buendia possesses. The Argentinian has 16 assists in the Championship for Norwich this campaign, having managed seven in the PL last term as they finished bottom of the table, and his chance-creation statistics are eye-catching.
Therefore, £40m could be a fair valuation for Buendia, who also has room for growth at the age of 24, as he could be a valuable addition to the Reds squad. Although, it stays to be seen how high Buendia is on Liverpool’s list of targets and how much the club will be willing to spend on reinforcing their attack ahead of the 2021/22 season.
His name was constantly linked with a move away last summer, but Buendia stayed put and has further cemented his status as a fan favourite at Carrow Road as the attacking midfielder was an integral part of his side’s Championship title tilt in the 2020/21 campaign, which sees Daniel Farke’s men return to the PL at the first time of asking
