Liverpool in advanced talks with 20-year-old World Cup winning superstar

Merseyside club preparing to sign Kylian Mbappe and sell Mohamed Salah during the summer transfer window. Liverpool are set to break the bank with a world record £215m offer for France international. If the Reds sign the attacker, he would allegedly earn a staggering €40m a year, more than Lionel Messi.

However, the report believes that the move hinges on Egypt international moving to Real Madrid. The Spanish media assert that Salah has a ‘bad relationship’ with Jürgen Klopp, and Zinedine Zidane is willing to capitalise on the ill-feeling if he cannot secure his number one target: Mbappe.

This is a mixed bag. Selling Mohamed is not a disaster if Liverpool sign Kylian. While many Kopites believe that Reds should never have to sell our top talents, it would be mawkish to suggest that Liverpool should pass up on the player tipped to take up the mantle from Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo.

Where the report becomes fishy is the numbers. Michael Edwards and the rest of Liverpool transfers team have proven shrewd operators in the market, it is unlikely Reds would be willing to spend over £200m on any footballer, it is even more unlikely that we could completely overhaul Reds wage structure with such an astronomical salary.

Mbappe started this season fantastically as he already played 11 matches, scored nine goals and provided four assists in all competitions. He is a key member of the Les Bleus line-up and also helped them to win the 2018 Mundial which is a big achievement for the attacker.
