Liverpool held negotiations with No.11 Spain international

Marco Asensio is the subject of interest from Liverpool over a potential move in the summer transfer window. Real Madrid will reportedly demand nearly €60m to part ways with the 26-year-old winger. Spain international’s deal situation has made him one of the most highly sought-after footballers in Europe this summer.

The Spanish winger will enter the final year of his Los Blancos contract in ten days, and his possible availability has alerted some of the biggest teams in Europe. The Spaniard was La Liga giants’ third-highest scorer this past campaign with 12 goals in 42 games.

But Marco’s status as a rotation option for Carlo Ancelotti has forced him to consider his future at Real Madrid. Such a situation has captured the attention of the Reds. The Merseyside giants initially identified Asensio as a possible long-term replacement for Salah.

And while Liverpool are yet to resolve Salah’s future, Marco will likely take Mane’s spot in the first-team setup at Liverpool if he moves to Anfield in the summer transfer window. Marco is thus a viable target for the Reds, with Liverpool establishing contact with his entourage.

But the Reds will need to fend off stiff competition from several European bigwigs to secure his signature. At the same time, the Reds might have an uphill task to land Marco Asensio, with Real Madrid slapping a €60m price tag on him.
