Liverpool held negotiations with €40m-rated Serbian centre-forward

The Merseyside giants are apparently the latest side to express their interest in signing the Fiorentina centre-forward Dusan Vlahovic and can possibly make a move as early as next summer. Serbia international’s deal situation at Artemio Franchi Stadium has deteriorated from tricky to fractious.

His current contract with La Viola expires in summer 2023, and talks to extend have recently taken a hit, with Fiorentina’s president Rocco Commisso putting out an official public statement admitting that Dusan’s entourage has rejected several of La Viola’s lucrative contract offers and are hesitant about signing a new contract at Florence.

The report adds that Fiorentina are unwilling to risk their star man leaving on a free at the end of his deal. Hence, there’s a high possibility that the club can put Vlahovic up for sale in the upcoming transfer windows. Juventus, Atletico Madrid, Milan, and Liverpool are all weighing up transfer moves for the Fiorentina striker.

The 21-year-old striker had a very successful 2020/21 season as he netted career-high 21 goals from 37 Serie A games, making a name for himself as one of the most lethal young centre-forwards in world football.

The Serbian striker has had an equally spectacular start to the current season scoring six goals in only eight games across all tournaments, and is well on course to put up an even better goal tally.

Dusan has been extensively linked with a move to the PL this summer, Man City appeared to be closing on for the Serie A forward, but nothing materialized.
