Villarreal forward Arnaut Danjuma says he has ‘unfinished business’ in England amid speculation linking him with a move to Liverpool. The Netherlands international impressed for Unai Emery’s side during the 2021/22 season, registering 16 goals across all tournaments, including six in the UCL.
Arnaut, who played for Bournemouth before his move to the Yellow Submarine in 2021, has been linked with the likes of Liverpool and Man United. Danjuma spent two campaigns with the Cherries, one in the PL and the other in the Championship.
Having performed well in the UCL since then, speculation regarding his future has ramped up. But the 25-year-old winger revealed he hasn’t been informed of any concrete interest from the Reds and is happy at the La Liga giants. ‘It’s a bit of a funny story, to be fair,’ the Dutch forward said.
‘We’ve all read what has been said in the press, but I am a quick learner. I did an interview in Holland saying I’m aware of the interest. They asked me if I was aware of it and I am, as everyone is. I’m aware of it, you are aware of it because it has been in the press. My phone literally went off all the time.’
However, in terms of his future, the Dutchman hinted a move back to England could be on the cards. ‘There is definitely unfinished business for me in England,’ the former Bournemouth winger added. ‘If you look back to the reasons why I joined Bournemouth initially it was for me to play Premier League football.’
