Liverpool enter the battle to sign No.9 African centre-forward

Liverpool have been closely monitoring the progress of Victor Osimhen. Napoli will demand nearly €100m to part ways with the 23-year-old centre-forward, a target for Man United. Osimhen has been one of the best strikers in Serie A this campaign, and he has the potential to develop into a world-class footballer.

A move to the PL could accelerate his development and help him fulfil his potential. The German coach has worked wonders with talented footballers during the course of his managerial career. And Victor could experience similar growth to that of Mane and Salah at Anfield.

The Merseyside giants need to add more depth to their front three, and Nigeria international can play several roles. The Nigerian centre-forward can slot in as the wide forward as well as a central striker. The Nigerian could partner with the likes of Salah, Diaz, and Nunez next campaign.

The African centre-forward’s arrival will allow the German manager to play with different formations, and Liverpool need that tactical flexibility. Right now, the Reds have been too predictable, and that has cost them this campaign.

However, the major problem for the Merseyside giants is that the former Lille striker is valued at €100m. Liverpool will struggle to pay that kind of money for Victor Osimhen without a big sale. With Man United in the race as well, it will be difficult for Liverpool to pull off the transfer.
