The Merseyside giants could pull the plug on their pursuit of Jude Bellingham. The Borussia Dortmund star has emerged as one of the hottest prospects in world football and has attracted the attention of a host of teams around Europe, with Liverpool reportedly to be in pole position previously.
However, it appears the German coach is having second thoughts over his team’s pursuit of England international. Jurgen Klopp is not too keen on raiding his former club Borussia Dortmund and still has strong ties with the German giants. The Reds have not signed a single Borussia Dortmund footballer since Jurgen Klopp joined the club in 2015.
They have been linked with multiple footballers in the past, including Jadon Sancho and Christian Pulisic, but nothing ever really materialised. And it looks the same scenario could entail for Jude, who has emerged as a top target for Liverpool next summer.
The Reds were even reportedly willing to shell out €100m for the English midfielder, who has enjoyed immense success since joining Borussia Dortmund last summer. One of Liverpool’s very own, Jordan Henderson, rates Jude very highly, having played with him in the Three Lions team.
Bellingham has recently praised him in an interview, and those praises have been certainly backed up by the footballer’s excellent displays for Borussia Dortmund this campaign. Indeed, the teenager has sparked into life under Marco Rose, having already been involved in six goals in eight competitive games.
