Bayern Munich manager Hansi Flick wants Thiago Alcantara to stay at the club after the midfielder was linked with a move to Merseyside club. Earlier this week reports in Germany claimed that the newly crowned PL champions are considering a move for Spain international.
It’s claimed that the German tactician is a huge admirer of Thiago, while the footballer is considering his options as his deal with Bavarians expires next year. However, Flick has told Bavarians hierarchy that Alcantara is an ‘exceptional player’ and is keen to keep hold of the midfielder.
‘There is no new update with Thiago, we talk almost every day,’ Hans said. ‘I see him every day in training and in games. So-called experts have their own opinions.’
‘When you see his exceptional quality, there are no two opinions. He is an exceptional player who gives something to a team.’ Hans has also congratulated Jurgen after Reds were crowned PL champions on Thursday evening. ‘We know each other and congratulated each other,’ he said.
‘He does an outstanding job at Liverpool. His way of mobilising the whole club and the fans, there are a lot of emotions. It’s a shame that the fans are not so involved. We have to swallow that, nevertheless, we are both very happy about our championships.’
The Spanish midfielder made the move to the Allianz Arena in 2013 despite same circumstances, turning down the offer of a new deal at Camp Nou to force through a transfer to Bundesliga giants. He could now do similar again.
