La Liga giants keeping tabs with £120,000-a-week Man United defender

Lionel Messi has advised Barcelona to dip into the transfer market and sign Red Devils centre-back Victor Lindelof. Sweden international has managed to work his way into Man United’s starting line-up under the Norwegian coach, with Solskjær opting to start him alongside summer signing Harry Maguire at the back-line more often.

This has allowed Victor the opportunity to shine, something he’s done given his displays so far this campaign. Lindelof has been solid at the defence for Man United, with his partnership with Maguire contributing significantly to Red Devils impressive defensive record thus far.

And following this, it looks like the 25-year-old defender’s performances for Man United have caught the eye of one Lionel Messi. The Argentine superstar has advised the Catalan club to bring Swedish centre-back to the Camp Nou, with Gerard Pique also in favour of a move. Samuel Umtiti linked with European clubs.

Blaugrana have been abysmal at the back so far this year, thus they could do with adding to their back-line like Messi is suggesting here. So far this term, the Spanish club have conceded 14 goals in 11 La Liga matches, a total that’s the joint-worst out of any side currently in the top five.

Given how they’ve performed so far this season, it feels Barcelona should think about listening to him and signing Victor Lindelof soon while they still have the opportunity. Blaugrana signed Frenkie de Jong, Antoine Griezmann, Junior Firpo, Neto and Jean-Clair Todibo during the summer transfer window.
