La Liga giants keen on signing £110,000-a-week Arsenal defender

Barcelona will have the opportunity to re-sign Hector Bellerin in a free transfer this summer. The 27-year-old right-back wants to leave Arsenal in the ongoing transfer window, with Real Betis his preferred destination. The Spanish defender has been with the Gunners for a decade, joining Arsenal from Barcelona in 2011.

Spain international made rapid progress at Arsenal before enjoying his breakthrough in the 2014/15 campaign. But, the Spaniard’s stature at Emirates Stadium has reduced since Arteta’s arrival as Emery’s replacement nearly three years ago.

Bellerin spent the 2021/22 campaign on loan at Real Betis as a result, enjoying a considerably successful campaign at the Andalusian club. Hector is now back at Emirates Stadium after the end of his stint in Andalusia, but he does not feature in the Spanish manager’s plans.

And Hector hopes to return to Real Betis this summer, although Barcelona could be an alternative destination for the right-back. The Catalan giants hoped to strengthen the right-back spot this summer by signing Azpilicueta from Chelsea.

But Cesar has signed a new deal with the Blues, thus hampering the Blaugrana’s chances of reinforcing the full-back department this month. Intermediaries have now offered La Liga giants the opportunity to add Hector Bellerin in a free transfer in the ongoing transfer window.

But the Blaugrana have already rejected the chance to re-sign the Arsenal right-back previously, although they could now land the Spanish defender in a free transfer.
