Missing out on signing Kylian Mbappe has prompted Real Madrid to prioritise signing Aurelien Tchouameni again. Los Blancos have reopened discussions to secure the services of the Monaco star, a target for Liverpool and PSG, in the summer transfer window.
France international was already considered one of the most talented youngsters in Europe during his days at Bordeaux. But Tchouameni has taken his game to another level since joining Les Monegasques in winter 2020, establishing himself as one of the best midfielders in France.
Aurelien, who has played 95 games thus far for Ligue 1 giants, has also broken into the French national side and will likely be a crucial figure for Les Bleus at the 2022 World Cup later this year. As for his displays at the club level, several high profile clubs have taken note of his talent, including Real Madrid, Liverpool and PSG.
The 22-year-old midfielder has gone from being a priority target for La Liga giants to someone they considered not pursuing in the summer transfer window. But Los Blancos’ interest in the French midfielder has rekindled following their failure to add Kylian Mbappe from PSG.
The interest from Liverpool is somewhat surprising, but the Frenchman is versatile enough to settle into their midfield trifecta. And with Henderson and Milner on the wrong side of 30, the Reds will need to have someone like the former Bordeaux midfielder in the first-team squad. But Real Madrid and Liverpool face stiff competition from PSG.
