Barcelona are emerging as the frontrunners to add Wolverhampton midfielder Ruben Neves in the summer transfer window, thanks to their strong relationship with super-agent Jorge Mendes. Portugal international is also a target for Man United.
Ruben is ready to complete his fifth campaign at Wolverhampton, having signed from Porto in the summer of 2017, when they were still in the Championship. Having helped Wolves earn promotion in his debut campaign in England, Neves has established himself as one of the most reliable midfielders in the PL since.
To date, the 25-year-old midfielder has played 211 games for Wolverhampton, bagging 24 goals and 12 assists. The Portuguese midfielder has been a top performer for Bruno Lage’s men, but he may have run his course at Wolves and could be set for the next step in his career with many big teams eyeing his signing, including Barcelona and Man United.
The Blaugrana are in the market for a new defensive midfielder as they look to secure a long-term replacement for club captain Busquets. The Spanish midfielder has no cover in his position currently and is entering the final phase of his career. So, the Catalan giants must put a succession plan in place for the Spaniard.
Man United, too, are interested in signing the Portuguese from Wolverhampton as they seek to add a top-quality midfielder to their ranks with Pogba and Matic ready to depart at the end of the campaign.
