Real Madrid reportedly look ready to join both Man United and Liverpool in the battle to sign James Maddison from Leicester City. England international has risen to prominence these past 18 months or so, with he flourishing at the Foxes following his move from Norwich in the summer of 2018.
James has managed to establish himself as one of the best playmakers in the Premier League during that time frame, with his form for Leicester catching the eyes of several Europe’s top clubs. Both Liverpool and Red Devils, as well as Spurs, are in the hunt for Maddison, with these sides now set to be joined in this race by the Los Blancos.
The report notes that La Liga giants are looking at possibly signing the 22-year-old attacker, who the Foxes rate at a whopping €85m, however, no contacts between them and Leicester have been made yet.
Given how good English playmaker has been for Brendan Rodgers’ side recently, it’s hardly surprising to hear that clubs like Reds and Spanish giants are vying for his signature.
James has bagged a total of 10 goals and nine assists in 46 matches for Leicester City in all tournaments, a ratio that means he contributes to a goal once every two and a bit games or so.
Given the fact that a lot of Real Madrid’s midfield options have spent time on the sidelines so far this campaign, it may be wise forking out the money for Maddison to ensure they aren’t left empty-handed in that area once again. Los Blancos signed Eden Hazard from Chelsea during the summer transfer window.
