Jorginho’s agent has responded to speculation linking the Chelsea star with a move to Juventus to reunite with Maurizio Sarri this past summer. It had been suggested that the Italian manager would look to reunite with the 27-year-old midfielder in Bianconeri after spells together at Napoli and London club previously.
However, that didn’t materialise as Jorginho stays at Stamford Bridge, and it has now been suggested by his agent that the idea of a move to Old Lady was never a serious option in the last transfer window. “If Maurizio tried to take him to Juventus? No, nothing like that has happened,” he said.
Given Serie A champions snapped up Aaron Ramsey and Adrien Rabiot on free transfers this past summer to sign to the quality midfielders that they already had in the squad, it always seemed unlikely that Italian midfielder would follow Sarri back to Serie A after only one campaign in the Premier League.
Having started brightly under Frank Lampard, Jorginho appears to be settling well at Chelsea and coupled with Maurizio having more than enough at his disposal currently to compete and pursue Juventus objectives, it doesn’t look as though the pair will be reunited any time soon.
Nevertheless, having had to deal with a transfer ban this summer, time will tell if English coach has his ideas to stamp his mark on the squad moving forward and so when the ban is lifted next year, Frank could opt to make changes to the makeup of the group.
