Man United, Real Madrid, and Juventus are in a three-way tussle to sign Lazio star Sergej Milinkovic-Savic in the summer transfer window. At the Serie A giants since 2015, Serbia international has grown into one of the best midfielders in Italy over the years.
Milinkovic-Savic has racked up 270 games for Lazio, scoring 52 goals and setting up 44 more. Sergej has been in good nick this term as well, producing a tally of five goals and assists each from only 17 league matches.
While the 26-year-old midfielder stays a quality footballer, the report claims that things are not all okay between the player and coach Maurizio Sarri, who is not entirely pleased with the midfielder’s attitude and how he carries himself.
With the Italian manager ready to pen an extension with Lazio, the club could now be forced to part ways with the Serbian midfielder at the end of the campaign. Alerted by the development, Man United, Real Madrid, and Juventus are now battling to sign him up in the summer.
Man United have held a long-standing interest in the Serbian, dating back to the days when Jose Mourinho was the coach. They have continued to keep tabs on Milinkovic-Savic and, with Paul Pogba expected to leave at the end of the campaign, view Sergej as a possible replacement.
Juventus, too, are keen on adding the Serbian midfielder to their roster, given that several central midfielders could leave Turin between now and the end of the campaign.
