Italian clubs in bidding war for €30m-rated Arsenal midfielder

Gunners playmaker Mesut Ozil is reportedly a transfer target for three Serie A clubs this winter as he looks ready to leave the London club. The 31-year-old midfielder has found himself out of favour at Emirates Stadium so far this campaign and is now being linked with Milan, Inter Milan and Napoli ahead of winter.

Arsenal coach Unai Emery has told Mesut that he is free to leave. It stays to be seen precisely where Ozil will end up, but if he does end up moving to Nerazzurri, it would be intriguing to see him link up with former Gunners partner Alexis Sanchez again.

The pair combined well during their time together at London club but both look past their peak at the highest level now. Still, they may be able to reignite that old spark in Serie A, where the slower pace of the game could suit them in their advancing years.

Napoli also need a creative playmaker as Fabian Ruiz heavily linked with European giants and his replacement is necessary. Little Donkeys started this season impressively as they won Champions League first game with Liverpool. Carlo Ancelotti ready to spend considerable money on German midfielder during the summer transfer window.

Rossoneri are in terrible form as they are in a 13th place in Serie A table and Marco Giampaolo also left the club. So new manager, Stefano Pioli, wants to strengthen the midfield, and former Germany international is the perfect option in this situation. There will be a real contest for Ozil, and his price could increase and become much more.
