Gunners enter the battle to sign 24-year-old Serie A goalkeeper

Arsenal join the race to sign Lazio shot-stopper Thomas Strakosha and prepare to make a bid in July when the transfer window opens again. London club have problems in the back-line as David Ospina wants to remain in Napoli, Petr Cech will leave the Gunners this summer, and they need replacement.

Albania international is a good choice in this situation as he had a fantastic campaign and proved his worth one more time. Strakosha joined the Italian club from Panionis Athen in 2012 with a £75k deal. He became an unchanged figure for the club and amazed everyone with his performances.

In this season, Thomas played 44 matches and made 13 clean sheets in all tournament. It is an impressive result, and he can improve his consequences with top-class partners. Albanian goalkeeper has contracted with the Eagles until 2022, and his release clause is nearly £20m.

He is a regular member of the national team which is already a big success for the shot-stopper. Probably the 24-year-old player will accept the correct offer from Unai Emery. He also helped Lazio to win Coppa Italia and get the Europa League ticket.

London club had an excellent result in the Premier League as they finished the competition in fifth place. Gunners lost the Europa League final against Chelsea 4-1 and missed the opportunity to get the Champions League ticket.

English club added several footballers last summer like Stephan Lichtsteiner from Juventus, Lucas Torreira from Sampdoria, Matteo Guendouzi from Lorient, Bernd Leno from Bayer Leverkusen and Sokratis from Borussia Dortmund. Arsenal also signed Barcelona midfielder Denis Suarez this January with a loan deal.
