German club in the hunt for €25m-rated Man United midfielder

Donny van de Beek is keen on leaving Man United in the winter transfer window. The Netherlands international has fallen out of favour at Theatre of Dreams and is open to securing a move elsewhere in search of regular playing time at the highest level of football.

It appears van de Beek’s representatives have already offered Newcastle and Borussia Dortmund the opportunity to add the midfielder on a short-term loan deal.

A marquee signing from Ajax in the summer of 2020, Donny has endured a dreadful spell at Theatre of Dreams, struggling with a lack of playing time and falling behind the likes of Bruno and Pogba in the pecking order.

After making only four league starts in his debut season in England, the 24-year-old playmaker was even linked with a transfer away from the Red Devils in the summer, but a move didn’t materialise. The Dutch midfielder stayed at Old Trafford after being promised a more prominent role in the new campaign.

However, the Dutchman has been left devoid of regular chances yet again. Indeed, the former Ajax midfielder has featured in just 67 minutes of league action this term, and it appears a move away from Theatre of Dreams could be on the horizon.

The Bundesliga giants are one of two teams to have been offered the chance to sign the midfielder in the winter. It appears the footballer’s entourage is well aware of the club’s lack of depth in midfield, with Borussia Dortmund reportedly also involved in the battle to add Denis Zakaria.
