German club in the hunt for 23-year-old Liverpool long-term target

Bayern Munich have reportedly joined the battle for the signature of Napoli midfielder Fabian Ruiz. The 23-year-old star has been a key figure for the Gli Azzurri since joining them from Real Betis, scoring ten goals and providing five assists in 72 games across all tournaments so far.

Fabian has been linked to several clubs that include Liverpool, Real Madrid and Barcelona. Reports in Spain claimed that Liverpool joined the La Liga giants in the battle to sign the £74m-rated midfielder. Now, Bavarians are also keen on roping Ruiz in. Hans-Dieter Flick wants to bolster the midfield during the summer transfer window.

Spain international has been one of Serie A’s best midfielders this campaign. So far, the Spanish star has featured in 32 games across all tournaments, netting three goals while providing two assists. Napoli may not be too willing to let go of Fabian, but at some point, it could become increasingly hard for them to keep Ruiz.

Bavarians have several midfield options at their disposal, but lately, Corentin Tolisso was linked to exit as Gli Azzurri were among the teams interested in signing him. Hence, the Bundesliga club could include the French international in a deal to sign Ruiz. Bavarians signed Lucas Hernandez from Atletico Madrid during the summer.

This could be a blow for the Merseyside giants, however, who perhaps look in need of making some changes in midfield after the relative lack of impact made by the players like of Naby Keita and Oxlade-Chamberlain, while James Milner is not getting any younger.
