Gunners footballer Mohamed Elneny is a loan target for Galatasaray. Super Lig giants are hopeful of signing Egypt international temporarily before the European window slams shut.
Mohamed is out of favour at the Emirates Stadium and likely to be moved on. Elneny was limited to only eight Premier League outings last campaign. And he was not in the matchday squad as Gunners beat Newcastle United on the opening day of this season.
This transfer window, Spanish manager moved to bolster his midfield options. Dani Ceballos has been brought in to play in central midfield at the same time that Joe Willock has accelerated up the pecking order.
The 27-year-old midfielder now finds himself below both Ceballos and Willock, as well as Matteo Guendouzi, Lucas Torreira and Granit Xhaka. Calum Chambers and David Luiz can also play in midfield. The most sensible option for him is to leave the London club before the European window closes.
Galatasaray are set to offer the Egyptian midfielder an escape route. The Turkish club can offer him Premier League football and title defence. He will now weigh up his options before making a move.
It makes sense for Mohamed to move away from the Gunners this transfer window and he has lost the opportunity to sign for another English club. A move abroad is the only route he can take, otherwise, he will spend the campaign rotting in the Arsenal reserves.
London club do not need him and getting him off their books would free up some wages for future transfers.
