The future of Chelsea centre-back Kurt Zouma should become more evident in the coming weeks. Following an amazing loan spell at Everton last campaign, the 24-year-old defender is back at Stamford Bridge ahead of the new season but whether he’ll be apart of Frank Lampard’s plans stays to be seen.
Kurt has been included in the London club’s pre-season trip to Dublin where the new manager will make an assessment. Although France international could find himself being the fourth option central defender next campaign behind David Luiz, Antonio Rudiger and Andreas Christensen.
If the west London outfit are willing to sell French centre-back then he would be welcomed back at Goodison Park with open arms, coach Marco Silva has admitted. Kurt did have a message for the Blues fans upon returning to Cobham last Friday.
If the 24-year-old defender were to leave this transfer window permanently, it could allow Fikayo Tomori – who amazed under Frank at Derby last campaign- to step in and become the fourth-choice centre-back. With the transfer window shutting in a month, expect Kurt’s future to be resolved soon.
Zouma is a regular member of the Les Bleus squad which is already a significant achievement for the footballer. Toffees had an excellent result in the Premier League as they finished the tournament in an 8th position.
English club added several footballers last summer like Richarlison from Watford, Bernard from Shakhtar Donetsk, Kurt Zouma from Chelsea, Beni Baningime from Wigan, Yerry Mina, Andre Gomes and Lucas Digne from Barcelona.
