Chelsea monitoring highly-rated Napoli defender
Chelsea are in an actual crisis as Jose Mourinho has a worst season of his career. English champions clearly failed during the summer transfer window and reportedly will be very active in January to bolster the squad.
The Blues consider to make an early January move for Napoli right-back Elseid Hysaj and considering him as a possible replacement of under-fire veteran defender Branislav Ivanovic.
Hysaj is a strong offensive full-back, who can play left and right side of defense. He has joined Napoli this summer from Empoli after convincing performance for The Blues. The 21-year-old quickly became a key player of Maurizio Sarri’s team with 14 appearances in all competitions for Napoli.
The 5 ft 11 in defender is a permanent member of Albania national team. He had his debut in a friendly match against Georgia on 6 February 2013 and at age of 18 became the third youngest player after Blendi Nallbani and Iljaz Çeço to play for the Albania national team.
Manchester United in talks with club to sign the defensive powerhouse
Interest in young Croatian talents is growing fast among the top European clubs as the latest successes of Croatian players in European leagues makes them more actively monitor domestic youth leagues and competitions.
It seems, Manchester United are going to use the last years politics of Chelsea, which often buy young players from Western Europe and send them back in their clubs or in lower leagues to monitor their development, as the Red Devils representatives have already contacted Dinamo Zagreb to negotiate over the future of 18-year-old centre-back Filip Benkovic, who had already debuted for senior team in summer and is being considered as one of the most talented defender of his generation.
Benkovic appeared on United radar after his successful Champions League appearances for Dinamo Zagreb this year and he was being monitored by the scouts of English club during the last 2 matches of Croatian HNL.
The 18-year-old defender rejected to directly answer our question, regarding the interest of Premier League giants saying he is not against to change the club in January, but thinks that it is earlier for him to try himself in top leagues.
As our sources say, representatives of the 20-times English champions think the same and if two clubs agree the deal, Benkovic will be loaned back in Zagreb for a minimum year.
Liverpool aimed the ‘Croatian Xavi’ from Serie A
Liverpool have entered the race for signing the highly-rated Croatian midfielder Marcelo Brozovic.
Jurgen Klopp is unhappy with current central midfielders and planning to make a January move for Dynamo Zagreb creative star, who is currently out on loan to Inter Milan.
Brozovic’s agent, Miroslav Bicanic, has regularly touted his client for a move to a major European league, with Liverpool taking their place alongside the likes of Everton, Arsenal and Valencia as possible suitors he has put forth. It’s believed that Inter Milan will seek a fee of 15 million euros if Brozovic is to leave during the January transfer window.
Despite being only 22, Brozovic has already racked up close to 150 appearances for club and country. He passes the ball crisply and accurately over short distances and occasionally picks some nice, longer diagonals to the flanks. The majority of his passing, however, is safe and secure, with little risked or gained. He rarely displays much creativity in his choices.
The 5 ft 11 in player has joined Nerazzurri this summer and clearly failed to make an impact – made just 7 appearances without a goal and assist.
