The London giants could reportedly be offered the chance to seal the transfer of Juventus footballer Adrien Rabiot in a swap deal this summer. France international has not had the most convincing first campaign at Bianconeri after his move from PSG last summer, and it looks like he could be on the move again already.
Blues duo Jorginho and Marcos Alonso are targets for Bianconeri, and Adrien is one of the footballers who could be on offer to Chelsea in come back. It is not yet clear if the Blues would accept such a proposal, but if Jorginho does move on, then Rabiot could be an ideal like-for-like replacement in that area of the pitch.
The 25-year-old midfielder was a crucial figure at Paris and surely still can make an impact for a top club, even if things haven’t worked out for him in his brief time in Serie A. Gunners have also recently been linked with the French midfielder, but it now seems like Chelsea might have the edge over their rivals here.
Swap deals may become more common for a while due to the economic impacts of the covid pandemic, and it’s not clear if Gunners have any footballers Bianconeri would be interested in.
This would be a blow for Arsenal, as they arguably need a new midfielder more than Blues do at the moment, with Adrien sure to be an upgrade on under-performing stars like Granit Xhaka and Matteo Guendouzi.
