Chelsea ready to pay £30m for La Liga midfielder

Chelsea enter the battle to sign Real Madrid star Mateo Kovacic during the transfer window. Blues have problems in midfield and want to sign high-class players. Chelsea had a terrible season as they finished Premier League on a fifth place and stayed without Champions league. Antonio Conte leave the club today and a new coach will be Maurizio Sarri. The Italian manager has to fix problems in the London club and sign new players. Kovacic is the main target for Chelsea as Drinkwater is out of form, Fabregas already 31-year-old and Bakayoko can’t suit the club yet.

Croatia international joined Real Madrid from Inter Milan in 2015 with a £28m deal. Kovacic contracted with the club until 2021 and his release clause is nearly £30m. Several big clubs like Man United and Liverpool also interested to sign him and his price could increase during the summer. Chelsea need a creative midfielder like he is.

24-year-old currently is in the World Cup as his team made a big sensation and reached final. Croatia will play against France and they have a chance to win Mundial title the first time in their history. Mateo concentrated on this match and after the competition, he will make a decision about his future.
