Chelsea are trying to secure Andy Carroll on a permanent contract from West Ham United and are delaying on a loan deal for Michy Batshuayi until a transfer can be finalized.

Batshuayi has drawn interest in the Premier League however he wants to secure a move to Sevilla, his first choice for a brief switch ahead of the World Cup.

The La Liga giants have earlier agreed on a €1.5m loan fee, and are also set to pay a significant portion of his salary.

The La Liga giants are also looking at alternative options like Everton’s Sandro Ramírez and are even keen on in Daniel Sturridge, however, they are believed to prefer getting the Belgium international in through the door.

The Blues, however, will not let the Belgium international go until they are certain of signing a striker in the current window.

The West Londoners are in turn trying to secure Carroll. However, any deal will have to be on a permanent base after West Ham refused to countenance a loan move.

The 29-year-old has developed as a target to give Chelsea more depth at centre-forward, the club having missed out on the season’s first choice Fernando Llorente in a summer transfer deadline day fight with Tottenham.

The striker was left out of West Ham’s FA Cup third round replay game with Shrewsbury, while Batshuayi is set to start Chelsea’s game against Norwich on Wednesday.
