Jerome Boateng could well be headed to Premier League in the summer transfer window, with a trio of English clubs interested in the soon-to-be free agent. The Bayern Munich centre-back is the subject of interest from Chelsea, Man United and Liverpool.
Jerome is heading into the summer transfer window after ending a decade-long stint with Bavarians, having joined them from Man City in the summer of 2011. During this time, Boateng established himself as one of the best centre-backs in the game, amassing 363 matches at Bayern Munich while also chipping in with 10 goals and 25 assists.
Over the course of his spell with Bundesliga giants, Germany international also won every trophy on offer at Allianz Arena level twice while winning the FIFA World Cup with the national team in 2014.
However, with his contract with Bayern Munich expiring this summer, the 32-year-old centre-back is ready to become a free agent. Such a situation seems to have piqued the interest of Chelsea, Liverpool and Man United.
In Jerome, Chelsea could repeat their formula with Thiago Silva, who has been a huge success upon joining PSG as a free agent last summer. However, with Silva in the twilight of his career and Azpilicueta on the wrong side of 30 as well, a prudent move would perhaps be to sign a footballer who is a tad bit younger and can offer more years to Chelsea.
Nevertheless, as per the report, Blues, Liverpool and Man United all appear to be keen on signing the German defender on a Bosman move and it remains to be seen if the 32-year-old centre-back does end up making his way to the PL this summer.
